divisions having names of 12 groups of
stars. The signs of the zodiac, the 12 divisions
of the zodiac used sp. in reading person's

zone, n. Band of colour etc. round something;
any one of the 5 divisions, based
on degree of heat, into which the earth
is marked off (torrid zone, frigid zones, temperate
zones); any part of country, earth,
a space, marked off by certain conditions
or for some purpose (war zone, etc.). (zoun).
